Hello, I’m Nathan.
Any medium is a product of the cumulative time each person has put into it; not an incredibly insightful statement but an easy start. Experimentation and re-imagination are my favorite aspects of post production because it’s making what everyone has done up until that point the best it can possibly be.

For the past few years I’ve been at a place called Kelvin Optical, a part of Bad Robot dedicated to doing things in-house. Some of my favorite not-on-resume things I’ve done at Kelvin range from editing
this piece that aired at the 2016 Academy Awards to using Mistika to do a 4k restoration of the cult-classic Phantasm by Don Coscarelli.

I was part of a three-person team using Mistika, the same software utilized by Park Road Post for
The Hobbit movies’ digital intermediate. Starting with Star Trek Into Darkness through The Force Awakens and 10 Cloverfield Lane, we conformed in-house. I love post because it always should be challenged to be better, both in the creative and the technical that enables it.
